Requirements

Applicants must be at least 21 years old by the time the program is completed to qualify for an interstate license, or 18 years old for an intrastate license.

You must have an active Arizona driver's license before you can receive an Arizona CDL.

You must have proof of at least one (1) consecutive year of driving experience with a standard operator's license issued by any state.

You must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently so that you are able to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.

What Our CDL Programs Cover

Our school has a variety of programs and you can earn your Class A or Class B CDL. Our highly-skilled instructors can help prepare you for a rewarding career in the trucking industry. We use a combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience to give you a strong foundation of knowledge. This prepares you for both the written and skills test portions of the CDL exam. Different program lengths cover different types of material and our admissions staff can assist you in finding the best program for your needs.

At Yuma Truck Driving School, we have flexible training schedules and financial assistance is available for those who qualify. We also specialize in training for active-duty military, veterans, and their families.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants to our Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training program must either possess a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent, such as a GED. Applicants must provide documentation showing a high school graduation date or GED transcript. This will be kept on file by Yuma Truck Driving School.

Depending on the program, applicants may demonstrate their ability to benefit from training by passing an approved test. This would replace the requirement of providing a high school diploma or equivalent. This test will have been reviewed by a qualified, independent third party to ensure it is appropriate for admissions decisions.

The third party will also determine the score levels that will be necessary for a student to be accepted. The goal of this process is to help ensure a substantial number of students will complete training and obtain employment in the industry for which training was provided.
